Spring and fall are the nicest times to ride this trail. There is not much shade, so it is hot in the summer, and there is much more traffic on the road and trail during the summer. The winter can be cold and windy, but you will not have to fight any traffic, and since it is Florida, it is possible to luck out with a 70 degree day in the middle of January.
On Leash Only
Dogs are permitted on the trail on a leash. The trail is nice for walking and running in addition to cycling.
There is no fee or permit required to ride on this paved trail. However, some of the trails that can be accessed from here do require a state park or state forest entrance fee, so it is a good idea to bring cash on the ride.
