A Northwest Florida getaway can---and should---be more than just chaise lounging and umbrella’d drinks, and Boogie’s Watersports in Destin, Florida offers up the adventures that make this area so unique. Wave runners, glass bottom boat tours, parasailing, and more promise memories that will last long after tans fade. See the Gulf of Mexico from 800 ft. above, ride a wave runner on the hunt for dolphins, or take a guided tour of multiple bodies of water, all while seeing this underwater paradise from above and below.
What Makes It Great
Boogie’s Watersports promises more than just a run-of-the-mill beach experience. Local guides troll through familiar spots on the hunt for marine life many visitors miss, and their glass-bottomed offers an entirely new perspective. On-deck species identification is an incredible educational opportunity, and is also offered on tours. Pontoon boats are also available for rental for up to an entire day, allowing visitors to visit the Bay, Destin Harbor, and Crab Island areas on their own time.
For those wanting a more expansive view of Destin’s emerald green waters, parasailing is an adventure not to be forgotten. Cruise a cool 800 ft. above the Gulf of Mexico and soak in its coveted over waters and pristine white sands as you sail effortlessly along the coastline. For those wanting a more immersive, up close encounter, wave runner excursions are an excellent choice. Ride for up to 8 hours at your own pace, or take a guided dolphin tour and scour the waters for bottle-nosed dolphins. Choctawhatchee Bay, Crab Island, and the Gulf of Mexico can all be experienced from the thrilling seat of a wave runner.
Who is Going to Love It
Adventure seekers and wildlife lovers will feel most at home on any of Boogie’s excursions. Wave runners and parasailing offer thrills from radically different vantage points, while boat rentals and tours appeal to those wanting a more relaxing experience. Children (adults, too!) will be captivated by the glass-bottomed boat and dolphin cruises.
Directions, Parking, & Regulations
Boogie’s Watersports is located at Destin’s Harborwalk Village, just off FL HWY 98. Parking at the store front may be scarce depending on the season and time of day, but Harborwalk offers multiple lots all well within walking distance to Boogie’s. Pack a bag with essentials like sunscreen and towels, but beware---the wave runners do have storage compartments, but everything in them will get wet. A dry bag is recommended for things that need to stay dry. Underwater cameras are also recommended, particularly for the wave runner excursions. You certainly won’t want to miss out on what will be guaranteed frame-worthy memories.
