The Little Big Econ is one of the best kept secrets in Central Florida. The forest has well maintained trails, a beautiful winding river, great selection of natural wildlife, and is hardly ever busy. It is located 3.3 miles east of Oviedo and boasts 9,563 acreages of beautiful Florida wilderness. Most times I park at Barr St. for the pure enjoyment of running by the river. This is a better option for running/hiking. The other option is to park at Snow Hill, located off Co Rd 13. Snow Hill offers some amazing single track and is particularly popular with the trail running and mountain biking communities.  The trails have some great turns and offer a few hills which are rare for Central Florida. Bring water and watch for wildlife! I have seen some snakes and gators so I tend to watch my step. Bugs are not too bad but in the summer months the ticks can be around. Keep a mental note of where you are, trails are not well marked.  Parking costs $2, and the park is open dawn to dusk every day of the year. Anyone at Travel Country can give you expert advice on different trails to hike in the Central Florida area.  Travel Country also has many experts in kayaking, climbing, through hiking, fishing, stand up paddling, and much more.
