Deer Valley is a skiing-only resort in the winter, and visitors can choose from 21 lifts spanning more than 2,000 acres of skiable terrain. They take the guest experience so seriously, they limit ticket sales each day to make sure everyone has lots of breathing room on the mountain. It has an excellent learning to ski program for both kids and adults, and parents can take advantage of child-care facilities if they want to spend some time on the mountain alone.

Advanced skiers can ride up the Empire lift to top out at 9,570 feet and shred some of the mountain’s more steep and lofty slopes. Beginners can tool around the impeccably groomed runs of Bald Eagle Mountain and Flagstaff Mountain. During the summer, Deer Valley is packed with events and activities to enjoy, from hiking and mountain biking to art festivals, outdoor music, and more. You can rent a downhill or all-mountain bike and hop on the 70 miles of lift-serviced trails available. You can also connect with Park City’s internationally acclaimed network of more than 400 miles of singletrack. Take a lesson at Mountain Bike School where you can learn the fundamentals of the sport with skilled instructors.

Take a scenic chairlift ride and combine it with a hike for unforgettable views of the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains. You can also enjoy horseback riding, a chuck-wagon hayride, or western barbecue dinner. For water sports, try stand-up paddleboarding on the Snow Park Ponds or sign up for fly-fishing school with Orvis. You will learn the tricks about casting, tackle selection, knot tying, and more.
