French Creek State Park is in Chester County Pennsylvania and is a large state park that has a lot to offer. People who are looking for a place to camp at for a weekend would enjoy French Creek State Park. There a lot of hiking, trail running and biking trails; a disc golf course; and a lake where you can boat. There are cabins you can camp in, tent camping sites and RV/car camping spots. Another bonus of French Creek is that there is working bathrooms with showers and running water spouts throughout the camping areas. It gives you the feeling of roughing it with the options to use amenities.

What Makes It Great

If you enjoy the outdoors then you will like what French Creek State Park has to offer you. The camping is a perfect combination of toughing it and having some amenities. It gives people who are not as versed in camping an opportunity to experience camping. Another plus about French Creek is that they have miles of hiking/trail running trails. There are also some trails that you can mountain bike on. French Creek also has a pool and lake that are open during the warmer seasons.

If you play disc golf there is an 18 hole course within walking distance from the campsites.

There are multiple types of camping lot that you can choose from. The choices are tent camping, RV/Car camping and cabins. All sites have a fire ring and table that are available for use. The campsites also have access to bathrooms and showers as well as access to a water spout. The campsites very well kept and the people who camp there are typically friendly. French Creek State Park's campsites is the perfect place to spend a long weekend and enjoy everything that the park has to offer. Plus it is relatively cheap fun.

The camping is the perfect place for people who are not regular campers. You park your car near your campsite so you always have that close by. It has bathrooms and showers which will make people feel more at home. Overall, French Creek State Park is a great getaway for a long weekend of enjoying the beautiful land. There is a ton to do there so you will never be bored.

Directions, Parking, & Regulations

From downtown Philadelphia you will get onto I-76 W and head towards Valley Forge. Next is to get onto 422 W towards Pottstown. From there you will make a left onto River Bridge Road. After that you will make a left onto PA-724 W. Then its a left onto Shed Rd which will change to Crusher Rd from there you’ll make a left back onto Shed Rd. Make a left onto PA-345S and make a quick right onto Park Rd. Once on Park road you will follow the signs for campgrounds. Once you check in they will point you in the direction of your campsite.
