Green Lane Park has a lot to offer with over 20 miles of trails that vary in difficulty. They have natural dirt trails as well as paved trails all through out the park. The park has some hills, flat sections, and technical trails. It offers runners a lot of options. The variety makes this fun park for a lot of people. You don't have to best trail runner to have fun running these trails, either. A majority of them are easy and a great place to get your feet wet if you are just starting your trail running career.
What Makes It Great
With all of the different trails through Green Lane Park there are so many things that make it awesome for runners. These trails give you the option of doing a harder trail run on the Blue or Red Trails. You could also have an easier run on the Honeysuckle or Orange Trails. The diversity of these trails make it fun for even the most experienced runner. You do not always have to run the hardest trail most of the time it is more fun to run the easier stuff with friends. Green Lane gives you that option and it gives you the option of running technical single track trails. Another cool part about running in Green Lane is that in the middle of the park there is a Reservoir. You can run a three mile loop around the reservoir on a paved path.
The different terrain in the park lends itself to a large variety of runners. On any given day you could see avid trailrunners, the weekend racer or someone who runs strictly on roads. Green lane is a great place to spend a weekend running due to all it has to offer.

The runners that are going to like Green Lane Park are runners who are versatile and enjoy variety. The variety in difficulty allow all sorts of skill levels to enjoy running at Green Lane. The majority of people who run here have had some sort of trail running experience but that doesn't mean you have to necessarily. This is a perfect place for beginners to learn what trail running is. Green Lane has a lot to offer and anyone who runs there can find something that they will have fun running.
Directions, Parking, & Regulations
From downtown Philadelphia you are going to get onto I-76 W towards Valley Forge. You will take exit 5 for 476-N. Once on 476-N you are going to stay on it through the tolls. Once through the tolls you will take exit 31 for PA-63 towards Lansdale. Once on PA-63 you will turn right onto PA-29 after that right you will make a left onto Hill Rd. Followed by a slight left onto Green Lane Rd. Once in the Park you could park in any parking lot and find any trail with ease.
