Intro

Located on a cliff right off the shore, with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, rolling hills and incredible wildflower blooms in the spring, Sunset Boulders at Goat Rock Beach is on plenty of local climbers' to-do lists.

What Makes It Great

The area is beautiful in the sun, but bring a shell for foggy windy mornings. From the parking lot, it’s a quick five-minute walk to the rocks. There are a lot of bouldering and top roping options for climbers from beginner to advanced skills. Routes and rock vary. Classic routes include Pelican Arete, Hard On Traverse, Specialist and Mussel Man Traverse. The bouldering routes are all walk offs and most of the climbing routes require you to lower off.

Who is Going to Love It

All levels will have fun here, though the bouldering problems can get pretty high off the ground -- better for strong, experienced climbers!
