Intro

This 13-mile urban route takes cyclists on a moderately difficult tour of some of Santa Barbara's most beautiful neighborhoods.

What Makes It Great

As an urban cyclist route, this adventure really is equally good as exercise as it is for acquainting yourself with the various neighborhoods of Santa Barbara. There are some heavy traffic areas along the way, so be sure to pay extra attention at intersections.

Who is Going to Love It

Cyclists who want to see the variety of neighborhoods in Santa Barbara should check this one out. It's good for tourists but also locals who may not have strayed out of their own little section of town.

Directions, Parking, & Regulations

From Leadbetter Beach, go up Shoreline Drive and continue until you meet Cliff Drive. Turn left, drop down the hill, and climb up to the famous Hope Ranch area. Once you’ve passed through this beautiful neighborhood, continue across the 101 and up La Cumbre until you reach Foothill Rd. This will continue rolling up the back side of Santa Barbara until you reach Mission Canyon. Take a right, and you will have the wind in your face cruising down the hill past the Santa Barbara Mission. Continue at the stop sign to Garden, turn left, and you will end up back at the beach with an easy right-hand turn along the beach back to where you started. The beauty of this ride is that you can branch off in multiple locations to explore all parts of Santa Barbara.
