Located along the train tracks just a few hundred yards from Carpinteria State Beach, Island Brewing Company provides choice brews for everyone from beer-tasting connoisseurs in search of the perfect beer to salty-haired surfers fresh out of the water in their search for the perfect wave. You can hear the ocean from outside the brewery, which has a tasting room open til 9pm every night, and this place charms both locals and out-of-towners with its beach-town vibes.
The "Island Blonde" is one of their most popular brews, a lighter option with a slight hoppy finish, and it can be found on tap around town at places like the Cold Spring Tavern. While you should keep your eye out for Island brews around town, we recommend stopping in to the tasting room for a visit. First of all, every beer tastes a little better when you see the hard work and finesse put in to brewing it, but you can also expect to meet an interesting crowd in here for some good conversation and new friends.
We also love Island Brewing Company because it is the only brewery that is right next to one of our favorite campgrounds, running trails, and of course, the beach. If you're staying at the Carpinteria State Beach Campground, don't worry about bringing your own beer from home; just step across the tracks to IBC, enjoy tasting their masterpieces, and pick up a growler or two of your favorites! One of the best surf spots on the coast, Rincon Point, is just a few miles away as well.
