The Camuesa Connector is one of the favorite trails among Santa Barbarian locals. It's a nice backcountry loop that's got lots of flow, some switchbacks, and a lot of exposure. It's a great option when looking for a ride that will last about an hour or hour and a half. Hikers and trail runners frequent this trail as well, so be aware and share the trail.

What Makes It Great

Park at Upper Oso Campground and enjoy a 2 mile climb, before 4 miles of beautiful single track, and a final 4 mile pavement stretch back to the camp ground (when done as a loop). The early climbing can be a little tough with some steep switch backs, but the subsequent single track is rolling with great descents, as well as a few solid climbs. The Connector is a bit of a drive from Santa Barbara--usually about a half hour. But it's definitely worth it!

Who is Going to Love It

All levels of riders can have fun on the trail, though beginners might get tired on the initial climb. It's not a highly technical trail but the flow is outstanding -- something all riders appreciate. Strong riders can likely ride the loop in about an hour.
