Agua Verde Cafe is part of the Agua Verde Paddle Club and is the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat before or after paddling. The cafe is located in an old house, which sits on the street, right above the paddle club. Located in the U-District between Lake Union and Lake Washington, it's a small, family friendly hole-in-the-wall place with great food, coffee, cocktails, and outdoor seating with fabulous views of Portage Bay and occasional live music at night.  During the day it's cafeteria style, and at night it's table service. They have healthy organic food, vegetarian/vegan/gluten free options, and are probably most famous for their tacos. You can work up an appetite with a jaunt to the Arboretum which is opposite the paddle club, then head back for a good meal (it takes about two hours). Fresh Mexican food made from scratch using local, organic, and sustainable ingredients--no wonder there's often a long line.
