Destination Distance From Downtown
Review
The Chubb Trail is a great trail run about 40 minutes from downtown. It is a 7 mile trail connecting West Tyson Country Park to Lone Elk Park. There are parking lots at either end, but nothing in the middle, so you'll either need to get shuttled, leave a car at either end, or run out and back, which is 14 miles total, if you run the whole trail. From West Tyson, the trail is rockier, steeper, and in general more challenging than from Lone Elk. The first couple of miles from Lone Elk are flat river bottom single track as it follows the Meramec River. This portion can flood, but there is a high water route. For more information, St. Louis County Parks webpage provides access to West Tyson County Park and Lone Elk Park:
