Review

A little over a half hour from the city, trail runners will enjoy a remarkably undisturbed wilderness area, given that it is next to a major metropolitan area. The land has an abundance of beauty and history. The terrain includes woods, ridge lines, deep hollows, and sweeping views of the Missouri River from the high bluff the trail follows. The shorter loop is called Clark Trail (5.3 miles), the longer extension is called Lewis Trail (8 miles). For more information, visit Missouri Department of Conservation, Lewis and Clark Trail (located within Weldon Spring Hollow): http://mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/places-go/natural-areas/weldon-spring-hollow There is a parking lot off of highway 94 for the trailhead. Attention: Lewis and Clark Trails have no facilities. Bathrooms, water, and maps are available a few miles away at Department of Conservation's headquarters and visitor center, 2 miles west of MO 94 on Hwy "D".
