Did you know Washington’s brewing industry has a huge economic impact on our state? Beer fills our coffers to the tune of over a billion dollars each year. When you buy local beer, you’re supporting the local economy and often, small mom and pop breweries.
The Washington Beer Commission provides support for our craft breweries by holding festivals throughout the year to promote local beer and increase demand.
Bremerton’s Summer BrewFest is one such festival. Come out on Saturday, July 12, and taste micro brews from 30 Washington breweries with 70 different beer selections. Some breweries will have Randalls, aka organoleptic hop transducer modules. It’s a filter connected to the tap, which runs through a double chamber containing flavor enhancers that change the taste of your beer.
Be sure to leave Fido and the little ones at home as this is an adult-only event and you must be 21 to enter. Tickets are $25 at the door ($20 advance purchase) and include a cup and six tokens for 5 oz tastes. Additional tokens may be purchased on site and Designated Driver tickets are $5 and include water and soft drinks.
Park free in downtown Bremerton or take public transportation via bus and/or ferry. The festival is a 5-minute walk from the ferry terminal and Seattleites are encouraged to walk on to avoid lines.
