From sunset trail runs along the bluff of Lookout Mountain, to long scenic paddles down the Tennessee River – the City of Chattanooga has something to offer everyone. During the week of May 5th, we asked the people of Chattanooga to tell us where their favorite places are to get outside in the Scenic City and one lucky participant was rewarded with a Marmot Rain Jacket from our friends at Rock/Creek Outfitters.

It is no suprise to see Cloudland Canyon at the top of this list. This destination is one of the most beautiful river gulches in the Appalachian range, offering stunning views, rugged hiking, and excellent camping opportunities.

Sunset Rock is a classic and a true cradle of the climbing scene in Chattanooga: offering exquisite rock, a friendly approach, and lots of high quality routes.

The Hiwassee River has a wealth of history and natural beauty that will accompany you along this classic paddle, plus it's only 45 minutes from downtown.
