Rock and Rave is back for a third consecutive year with the promise to be bigger and better than ever. The Black Diamond sponsored event will take place at Stone Summit Atlanta climbing gym on March 7th and will include speed and a pro athlete climbing competitions, raffles, highball bouldering challenges, food, music, and much more.

As if the swag, food, and climbing were not enough to convince you to go, pro climbers like Lisa Rands, Jimmy Webb, and Sasha Digiulian are bound to change your mind. These three impressive climbers will show off their skills on the wall as you cheer them on in the pro athlete competition, and you will also have the opportunity to climb with them throughout the evening.

Sasha Digiulian lives in New York City but climbs all over the world. Don't be fooled by her young looks, as this rock star have won several national and international competitions, climbs 5.14d and boulders V11. Just a few weeks ago, Sasha tried mixed climbing (ice and rock climbing on the same route) for the first time, and placed top ten in the competition.

Jimmy Webb is originally from Maryville, TN and is one of only a few climbers that boulders the grade V15. Some of his most impressive sends to date are Defying Gravity (V15) in Colorado and Practice of the Wild in Switzerland (V15). Jimmy calls Chattanooga home and sets routes at Tennessee Bouldering Authority and coaches climbers when he is not crushing rigs someplace else.

Lisa Rands is a Chattanooga local originally from California who has been climbing for over 20 years. Her most memorable sends are the Mandala (V12) in Bishop, CA and Gaia in England, with her latest feat being the complete sweep of all four competitions in the 2014 Triple Crown Bouldering Series. Lisa currently runs a climbing school with her husband Wills Young, at High Point Climbing & Fitness in Chattanooga.

This great event also comes with a great purpose; benefiting non-profits like the Access Fund, Carolina Climbers' Coalition, and the Southeastern Climbers' Coalition. These organizations are instrumental in ensuring access to so many of our crags and boulder fields in the south. The Rock and Rave event celebrates this fact, as well as raises awareness in the climbing community and encourages fund donations to help with these efforts. If it were not for these committed organizations, places like Stone Fort, Leda, and Hospital Boulders may not be open to climbers today.

The doors open at 6.30pm for pre-sale ticket buyers. For everyone else, the party starts at 7pm. To kick things off, the party starts with a speed climbing competition that will be followed by several raffles and more competitions. The evening will conclude with a light show and rave into the small hours of the night.

Parking is available at Stone Summit, but it's always a great idea to ride share with your friends to minimize chaos. Car camping will be allowed in the back of the Stone Summit parking lot, and amenities like a fire ring and food truck will possibly be available if there is enough interest.
