Cascade Bicycle Club’s Bike-n-Brews ride combines two of Seattle’s favorite things, handcrafted beer and a fun bike ride. It’s a flat cruiser-friendly urban route that finishes with live music and local microbrews. Beginning at Schooner Exact Brewery, south of the West Seattle Bridge at 3901 1st Avenue South, the ride offers three options in length, all looping back to the brewery. You can do a 15-mile ride to Tukwila and back, the classic 30-mile ride, or the 30-mile Green River Extension route.

The 15-mile route follows the Duwamish and Green River trails. Turn around at the Allentown Bridge in Tukwila and return via Airport Way or the adjoining Airport Perimeter road, connecting back to the route before Georgetown. Avoid traffic entirely by turning around on the Green River Trail and riding the route as an out and back.
Take the classic 30-mile route out of SODO through South Park, then to Airways Brewing Company through bike trails. Then take the Interurban Trail to Tukwila, heading back via Allentown and Airport Way and Georgetown. Save some energy for headwinds, which are often encountered on the route back. To avoid wind, ride back through South Park via the Green River Trail.
Want to ride longer? Take the 40-mile loop connecting Green River and Interurban Trails through Kent and joining up at Airways Brewing Company rest stop. Head back via the Interurban Trail to Tukwila, then Allentown and Airport Way. Again, note potential headwinds on the Interurban Trail and Airport Way and Georgetown. Be sure to begin no later than 10:30 am for this route.

There will be two support cars along the route and you can call the Cascade Ride Hotline at 206-841-9665 for help, but it is recommended that cyclists bring repair kits and a spare tube. Mechanics will be at the start line and Airways Brewing Company.
Coupons on your bib will get you some beer or soda along the way, and a trucker hat and more beer at the finish line. The rest stop at Airways Brewing Company offers some sustenance including fruit, Clif Bars, and bagels from the Seattle Bagel Bakery.
Parking is limited at the brewery, but you can park under the West Seattle Bridge and along 1st Avenue and on adjoining streets. Packet pick-up is from 9-11am in the Schooner Exact Brewery parking lot at Cascade’s yellow tent. Dress in layers (you know the drill) and bring rain appropriate gear and a change of clothes for the post-ride party if it looks like we’re going to have inclement weather that day.
